New Generation of integrated alarm monitoring and control system (IAMCS)

OVERVIEW

THE N3000 ARCHITECTURE

The NORIMOS 3000(N3000) is a mudular system and can be used as a:

  • Measured data acquisition system
  • Monitoring system
  • Control system
  • Or else a combined measuring, monitoring and control system

The N3000 architecture consists of various system modules which can be combined in a great variety of ways. It can be used as a single system, e.g. as a Measured data acquisition or alarm or safety systems, as another type of control unit or as a complete IAMCS. Its field of application are therefore numerous:

  • On ships (for engines, ballast/cargo control, pump & control, ventilation systems, etc.)
  • In power plants (e.g. on gas and diesel engines)
  • On emergency power systems
  • In automation

The components can roughly be subdivided into three areas:

  1. Decentralized measuring, monitoring and control units for on-site signal processing
    - used to measure and monitor analog or binary sensors respectively and for actuator control
    - generate optical and acoustical alarms, e.g. because of higher or lower deviation of readings from preset values

  2. Unites used for visualization of measurement, control and monitoring processes or distribution of information:
    - provide a quick overview over engine readings, control processes and alarms at various locations

  3. Recording units:
    - journal and protocol printer: used to print out logs for alarms and other important processes

DETAILS OF THE SYSTEM

The brand new I/O system is designed to be used in distributed integrated alarm monitoring and control systems. In one local bus one main processing unit (master) can be combined with seven free selectable expansion units (slaves), in total eight units with 24 channels each. So one main CPU is able to process a total of 192 I/Os, analog and binary mixed. The control panel with one or more processing units are able to work together on a redundant bus constitute the so called integrated engine monitoring systems.

The systems can be integrated in a NORICAN bus to configurate an UMS system.

• In each unit, 24 I/Os can be processed
• Available with main CPU as a master and without main CPU as slaves

PROCESSING UNIT OR EXPANSION UNIT FOR CABINET
• Surface mounting for installation in cabinet top hat-section or connection boxes
• Status LEDs for every I/O channel
• In each unit, 24 I/Os can be processed
• Available with main CPU as a master and without main CPU as slaves

CONTROL PANEL
• Flush-mounting in cabinet doors or control consoles
• Containing graphic LCD and membrane keyboard
• Available with main CPU as a master and without main CPU as slaves
